Premier League Preview - A minor improvement
Football : We did a bit better, but not much
So the international break is over... so far only England have a confirmed place in the World Cup amongst the home nations, but both the Republic and Northern Ireland can still get there via the playoffs. Wales and Scotland will have to wait another few years and aim for Qatar (yes it is actually happening).
So back to the grind of the Premier League.... who's ready for some stunningly inaccurate predictions?
Saturday 14th October
Liverpool Vs Manchester Utd : It feels like Man U are on such a role that they can't possibly lose at the moment but a match against Liverpool is no ordinary match. Expect Klopp to be well up for this one.. got to sit on the fence and plump for a DRAW
Burnley vs West Ham : Claret everywhere!! And not just at the M6 services. Slaven is under pressure and Sean Dyche is not. Touted as the next Arsenal manager in the week, can he continue his progress by piling the misery on Bilic? HOME WIN
Crystal Palace Vs Chelsea : Zaha might well be back, but Woy's boys are in bad shape and Chelsea are Chelsea. AWAY WIN
Manchester City Vs Stoke City : HOME WIN
Swansea City Vs Huddersfield Town : Interesting game in store here. Swansea might actually try and win a game and Huddersfield seem to only be able to play one way, which is the right way but will leave them open. As such I expect a proper game and potentially a lot of goals. So obviously it will be a nil nil based on our previous form! HOME WIN
Tottenham Hotspur Vs AFC Bournemouth : Spurs should have too much for AFCB here, and they should pick up their first Premier League win at Wembley. HOME WIN
Watford Vs Arsenal : The gunners have quietly be going about their business, and are actually doing quite well. Wenger will point that out if they pick up 3 points against a good Watford side. We're going for a draw though, Sanchez will be more depressed than usual, and wondering when he'll be on the same pitch as Messi and co again... not until January at least! DRAW
Sunday 15th October
Brighton Vs Everton : You heard it here second.... Koeman is gone after this game! Maybe. If they lose to Brighton there will certainly be a lot of noise, and the international break will not have helped and only given RK more time to think and the players more time to gossip. HOME WIN
Southampton Vs Newcastle Utd : The Saints look good this year and so do Newcastle... you feel that The Toon will do their best work at St James Park though and as such won't come away with anything here. HOME WIN
Monday 16th October
Leicester City Vs West Brom : Wow. Uninspiring game alert... tough to see what these two want to achieve this year and where the motivation is coming from. Jamie Vardy looks back on form and working harder than last year. On that basis we'll go for a HOME WIN
You'll get over 2000/1 on that lot.... no brainer as Michael Vaughan would say.
