TECH : Get your club organised... and win them a few quid too
UK Tech company helps safeguard children in sport while supporting GDPR compliance
A Gloucestershire based firm are making their mark on the sports world with their club management software. The Cloud based software and App, Coacha, enforces NSPCC best practice guidelines when clubs email or text children. Their aim is to protect as many young people in sport as possible from people in a position of trust who may have otherwise sinister intentions.
Parents happy too
It’s not only Coacha’s messaging processes that help with safeguarding. Coaches and parents especially love the added peace of mind that having their members details held independently in the Cloud brings to their safety. Using an App means that coaches don’t have to carry printed folders around that could otherwise fall in to the wrong hands. Whether at club training or a sporting events, this extra security is reassuring for children, parents and coaches alike.
Helping avoid fines
25th May 2018 sees the biggest shake up in Data Protection for many years with the introduction of the GDPR. The implications to businesses are far reaching, and sports clubs are subject to the same new rules too, including potential fines.
Jason Ayers, Coacha co-founder says:
“GDPR brings with it a shift in power from organisations that hold data on people, over to the individuals themselves. Although aimed at large organisations such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft, the change in regulation will mean sports clubs have to get to grips with GDPR too.”
Mr. Ayers continues:
“Club members or parents will be able to demand a copy of any data held on them or their children by a sports club. We recognise this is a big worry for sports coaches, so Coacha V2.0 due for launch in the new year will have GDPR compliance tools built into it. This will vastly reduce the admin for sports coaches that GDPR will bring after May next year, as well as remove hassle and worry for the club owner.’
Prize giveaways to Sports Clubs
To top this all off, and to celebrate a great 2017, Coacha are giving away over £1,200 worth of prizes in their #CoachasFirstChristmas competition. With £500 cash, a club website and a one-year Coacha subscription all up for grabs, the competition is open to any sports or community club.
