The FedExCup Playoffs with ThreeOffTheTee
Golf: $32m dollars of prize money is on the line over four Playoff events
The regular season's over, but still plenty of interest with $32m to play for over the next four weeks courtesy of the FedEx Play-Offs.
It's a pretty simple format - the top 125 players on the PGA tour are eligible to compete in the opening Northern Trust Championship, starting tomorrow. After this, the top 100 move on to the Dell Technologies Championship, then 70 to the BMW Championship in week three. The top 30 after this move forward to compete for the Tour Championship, with a cool $10m to the winner.
Quadruple points are on offer at each of the four post season events, compared with the regular season, so a strong showing in these four events means that anyone in the starting field of 125 can dream of winning the main prize.
Picking a winner for the opening event is tricky - a brand new venue for the Tour, Glen Oaks in Long Island, New York will prove a new and testing challenge for most. It is a long par 70, with several tough par 4s, albeit with forgiving fairways. The greens will be unknown to most and, given the fact that those most focused on doing well this week may be those in the "danger zone" around 100 on the points list, it may be a week when an outsider springs a surprise.
