#ThreeOffTheTee previews the BMW Championship (and 3 brave bets)
Golf: The tournament at Conway Farms gets under way tomorrow
The FedEx Championship has reached its penultimate stage, with a field of 70 contesting the BMW Championship at Conway Farms, Chicago. If ever a tour pro is going to challenge Kim Jong-Il's infamous 38 under par round of golf, his best chance may be on this course. Jim Furyk had a go in 2013, but even a round of 59 was not good enough to secure victory. With the weather set fair, expect four rounds in the low 60s to be needed to win this week - 24 under should be about the mark.
You do have to hit the ball straight here however, with penal rough punishing the wayward. Expect the likes of Zach Johnson (former winner) and Kevin Kisner to do well. In picking a winner, it seems hard to overlook the "brat pack" who are dominating this year. It is a brave man who backs against the obvious claims of Spieth, Thomas, Fowler, Rahm and Johnson and with Jordan driving so much better of late, he looks the pick of this elite quintet. However, we try to be brave and will go with three long shots, all playing OK and who could make the frame.
