12 Questions with Baseball Player Alex Lane-Kieltyka
Alex Lane-Kieltyka is a player and manager for the Bristol Brunels - and he commentates for Bath City Football Club and Bristol City.

1. What is the earliest memory you have of your sport?
Going to Oakland Coliseum for my first-ever baseball game. The A’s took on the Rangers. A night game at the ballpark was fantastic!
2. Who was your first sporting hero?
Kevin Doyle - I grew up as a Reading FC fan and he was my first favourite football player.
3. When did you know sport was going to be what you did for a living?
As soon as I started commentating for Bath City Football Club and writing articles for sports news outlets.
4. Is there a coach, teammate or even a club from your youth that has had a material impact on your life in sport today?
I used to do Tae-Kwon-Do and my instructor was a massive influence on me as a person and as a student.
5. Growing up, playing with friends, where was your 'Wembley', 'Centre court' or 'Madison Square Garden'?
Always the local park in Somerton. We had these big nets along with a massive patch of grass where we would play football and basketball.
6. What is the hardest part about professional sport?
Getting back up when you are knocked down.
7. What is the biggest sacrifice you have had to make in order to get to where you are now?
Time. Just time. That’s what it takes to invest in the sports you love.
8. What is your proudest moment in sport?
Winning the Single A National Championship at Farnham Park in 2022.
9. And what is a moment you wish you could take back or start over again?
I wish I took more advice early on or started to take sports more seriously at a younger age.
10. Who is your most respected opponent or competitor?
Our club team rival with the Bristol Buccaneers is always a great fixture.
11. What is your favourite sporting venue?
Somerdale Pavilion.
12. What's next for you and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
In terms of Baseball, I am hoping to look into coaching at a higher level. I’d like to potentially work towards working with the GB team one day.
