Jack Harper, born on the Costa del Sol to Scottish parents is a unique player in many aspects.
Fluent in both languages but living in Spain, the Scotsman first shot to prominence when footballing juggernauts Real Madrid signed him after they saw him playing for Almeria in a prestigious youth tournament in Brunete.
At 13 Harper left his family home in Málaga to live full time at the clubs training base. Harper was at Madrid from 2009-2015 and would progress through from age group football right up to the C team.
Aged 18 with 2 years remaining on his deal at the Bernabéu, Harper decided to leave them and join Brighton after deciding against going on loan in Spain. Sadly Harper arrived at Brighton with an unfortunate knee injury which sidelined him for his first 6 months at the club. After 18 months there and injury setbacks, Harper left the south coast club without making a first team appearance.
He then moved back to Malaga in search of first team football. Initially playing for Málaga’s B team the striker scored 13 goals in 23 games to help fire them to promotion out of the 3rd tier. For the B team Harper scored 24 goals in 50 games.
In the 2018-19 season he was promoted into Málaga’s first team were he would become a regular in the side after making his debut on the 18th of August 2018 away to CD Lugo. In the Segunda Division that season he played 26 times and scored 4 goals.
In February 2019 he signed a pre-contract agreement with La Liga side Getafe and completed the deal in July but after featuring in pre-season he joined second division side Alcorcón on a season long loan for the 2019-2020 season.
Internationally his allegiance lies with Scotland and he has been called up by the national team at every age group from U17s to the U21s.
