The Most Extreme Motorsports : Buckle Up
The Most Extreme Motorsports For Adventure Lovers
Sometimes it feels like the thrill is gone from life, and only adrenalin can help.
OK that’s pretty dramatic but what if you don’t feel like bungee jumping or jet skiing and want to experience something more exciting than moving yourself?
Good news -- your car wasn’t only made for running errands or going to work.
Of course, you can always be a responsible owner of a vehicle and keep it in good health, but what’s the purpose of insurance agencies then?
Believe us, extreme motorsports may not be extremely safe, but they do feel extremely good. So why not take advantage of them to bring the thrill back to your life?
Want to try, but don’t know what to choose? Check out this list of five most extreme motorsports created especially for you. And if you don’t feel like doing it yourself, you can always watch how the professionals do it.
Rally Racing
Many of the best rally cars are regular cars that have been modified, which means that it is one of the most accessible motorsports when talking about the technical factor. However, it’s also one of the toughest driving sports out there because rallies take place regardless of the weather and on different road surfaces, with unpredictable levels of grip.
Still want to try? All you need is a regular car modified according to the challenges on dirt roads and woodland tracks. Simply book a place in a beginner circuit, and good luck!
Demolition Derby
Sports are made for having fun - and what can be more fun than wrecking your (and competitor’s) car? The main rule in demolition derby is to become the last one standing (or running). All you have to do is eliminate your competitors, but do it cleverly - by inflicting maximum damage on them and keep your own car alive at the same time. What adds a little bit more challenge is the fact that most of the demolition derbies are held in the muddy pits, so you also have to be careful about not losing control over the car.
It may seem completely barbaric - but there are some ground rules, like not aiming for the driver’s door. And admit it, wrecking cars does sound exciting - why not try it?
Endurance Racing
These competitions are designed to test the reliability of cars and the endurance of the drivers and the crew. The most famous example of endurance racing is the 24 hours of Le Mans, where drivers compete using multi-million dollar cars equipped with the latest technology.
However, 24 hours of Lemons sounds like more fun - the competitors drive beaten, used cars, and the goal is to complete the most laps in 24 hours. Every vehicle that takes part in the race can’t cost more than 500$ - however, this does not include safety equipment, wheels/tires, and brakes.
Like in every race, in 24 hours of Lemons, there are also rules, penalties, and amusing awards. It’s not extreme in terms of speed or tech, but mostly in terms of silliness and fun.
Ice Racing
Driving on ice always causes difficulty maintaining traction, but if you’re up for a challenge ice racing might be the one for you. The entire track in this extreme sport is made of ice - frozen lakes, rivers, groomed frozen lots are just a few options. It can be very challenging, as it takes great skill to successfully compete and win in these races - but it’s also very exciting (and pretty dangerous).
You can use almost any type of vehicle: from cars and motorcycles to four-wheelers, as well as use spiked or regular tires - as you wish. Feel bored with ice fishing? Ice racing will give you all the adrenaline you need - and even more.
Motocross and Freestyle Motocross
Think that riding a car is too simple? Check out motocross. Here you won’t have a nice pavement or appropriate weather conditions - only dirt, rain, and speed. The off-road motorcycle will become your best friend when rushing through a dirt arena with steep inclines, sharp bends, and plenty of danger. It’s also pretty low-price, so if you don’t mind the possibility of broken bones or more severe injuries, this sport is for you.
And if it’s still not as risky as you’d like, have a look at freestyle motocross (FMX), where most of the competition happens... in the air. Every competitor must catch air and perform a series of complicated tricks to impress the judges.
It’s like gymnastics - only the racers perform extremely dangerous tricks several floors above the track.
To conclude
If you’re a fan of dangerous, adrenaline-filled activities, as well as powerful engines and competitions - you really should try motorsports. Choosing only one of them can be hard, so feel free to explore all of them - just try to look out for injuries, ok? Extreme sports are also pretty addictive because of how they make you feel, so don’t say later we didn’t warn you.
